This is a remote position.
About this role:
We are looking for a stellar writer, creative, and strategist to join our marketing team as a Content Marketing Manager.
The ideal candidate has previously run or significantly contributed to the content function at a B2B SaaS company. This candidate will play a pivotal role in portraying our brand, product, executives, and SMEs through a robust content strategy. They must have a mind for strategic thought leadership through influencers and partner relationships, creative and clever derivative content tactics, the development of compelling customer stories, and the growth of organic traffic in a thoughtful way. Lastly, you have a keen eye for the quality of content developed over the quantity of content produced.
We are a small and mighty marketing team, so hunger and curiosity to jump in where or when there are gaps are critical for the success of this role. This position requires experience managing a team of outside writers, serving as editor-in-chief, and simultaneously writing and producing content themselves. This role must straddle the line between strategically developing a content roadmap and tactically executing against it.
What you’ll be doing:
This role, day to day, will own the following strategies, activities, and channels but is not limited to these responsibilities.
Thought leadership webinars: Follow industry and regulatory trends, bring together experts to lead dynamic and thought-provoking discussions as a top-of-funnel educational play
Long-form content: From research to tactical how-to guides, you will determine our gated content strategy—how, when, and why we need to invest in whitepapers, guides, third-party reports, etc. to support lead generation.
Blogs & bylines: Develop compelling narratives showcasing our expertise and perspective from both a brand and executive/SME standpoint. Develop a blog contributors program to freely tap into the networks of outside experts while showcasing advice, predictions, and tactical how-to for our community.
Derivative & multimedia content: You must have a keen eye for the multi-purpose use of our content. Develop a repeatable process for repurposing and repacking our pillar content or webinar to get the limelight they deserve.
Organic search: Develop a long-term strategy for SEO and how we can incrementally and strategically improve our ranking on critical product topics.
Organic LinkedIn: Own the strategy and execution of our LinkedIn page, including voice, cadence, and mediums. Determine how we leverage Unit21 SMEs and external experts on LinkedIn to amplify our brand presence.
Speaking opportunities: From conference speaking applications to podcasts, determine where our narrative should be heard. Manage the story-building and execution with our SMEs in partnership with our PR consultant.
Customer stories: Craft compelling customer success stories and testimonials to highlight our products and services' real-world impact and value.
Content distribution: Content is only as good as the eyes it gets—partner with our demand gen team to oversee the syndication of our content. Collaborate on third-party content projects to enhance our brand's visibility and credibility.
What we’re looking for:
5-7 years of content marketing experience at a B2B SaaS company
Startup mindset and direct startup experience preferred
Marketing a technical product is a plus but not required
An ability to work at strategic and operational levels, consistently meeting or exceeding planned objectives.
Scrappy and resourceful operator. You can unblock yourself to achieve your goals and think creatively about your problem-solving approach.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You love to write and can communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
The standard base pay range for this role is $165,000 - 190,000 Annually. This base pay range does not include variable compensation including potential commissions, bonuses or other financial or equity incentives.
