Job Title: Data & AI Strategy Consultant

Location: Alderley Edge, Glasgow, or Edinburgh  

Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based

Reporting to the Head of Data Strategy, as a Data & AI Strategy Consultant you will be responsible for developing and shaping key elements of the enterprise data strategy for the Group and shaping and influencing strategic initiatives to deliver value for our customers.  

 

This role acts as the bridge between cutting edge Data, Analytics and AI technologies and real-world business opportunities. Your expertise and critical thinking will enable us to join the dots on key opportunities to realise our bold ambition to become an insight-led modern mutual, and to achieve our purpose which is to help more customers to achieve financial resilience.  

About the role

  • Research and share insights on emerging trends in data to identify and advocate for actionable opportunities to increase customer and business value. 
  • Define key elements of the data value proposition for stakeholders and qualify strategic opportunities and assess the viability of options. 
  • Shape key initiatives such as strategic opportunities to use AI to deepen customer relationships and improve operational efficiency.  
  • Lead core activities to increase our data maturity, such as strategic workforce planning and developing our proposition for The Royal London Data Academy which aims to support colleagues to learn data and AI skills and adopt new ways of working.  
  • Collaborate with Business, Transformation, Technology, and other partners to define our strategy and translate this into a clear, actionable roadmap for implementation.  

About you

  • Consultancy skills: business acumen and outcomes focused mindset complemented by critical thinking and analytical skills.  
  • Understanding of trends and domain knowledge and expertise in value creation from data, analytics, AI or digital.
  • Experience in strategy development and execution or transformational leadership involving data or digital including operating model design.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of financial services transformation would be beneficial.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management / influencing skills all levels (including C-Suite).
