Accountable: You’ll help to ensure accuracy and validity of results produced by Kyruus Health data science to help instill confidence in the findings and recommendations produced.
What you will do in a Staff Data Scientist role at Kyruus Health:
- You’ll identify high impact business opportunities through data exploration, model prototypes and bootstrapping projects.
- You’ll apply a deep understanding of the business and operational aspects of technology choices, ensuring a balanced approach that meets our company's needs efficiently. Select appropriate ML modeling techniques for complex problems with large-scale data.
- Develop and iterate on features collaboratively with the business partners.
- Establish best practices for model deployment, monitoring, and interpretability.
- Ensure production-ready ML solutions with low latency inference times and risk assessment.
- You’ll engage in hands-on development, productizing, and operation of machine learning models and pipelines at scale, including both batch and real-time use cases, structured and unstructured data.
- You’ll build solutions that can be easily integrated into external frameworks or existing applications.
- You’ll guide the development and expansion of the data science discipline within the organization by promoting best practices, strong technical decisions, coding standards and thorough documentation.
- You’ll foster collaboration among your engineering peers by creating well-structured, adaptable designs and code that promote teamwork and practical solutions.
- You’ll demonstrate your ability to facilitate consensus during complex technical discussions, ensuring that we maintain a productive and cooperative working environment.
- You’ll regularly present work internally (data science demo, internal talks,...) to technical, engineering and product stakeholders to iterate and generate excitement
- You’ll report to the Sr Director of Analytics in the Cloud Infrastructure and Data Platform Department within the Engineering Division.

- Kyruunauts in the Staff Data Scientist role can move in a more linear career path to a Senior Staff Data Scientist position. From there, you could move into a Principal level role or explore a management position within the Analytics or Engineering vertical.

What you will bring:
- B.S. or M.S. in engineering, math, physics, computer science or other quantitative discipline.
- 8-12 years of industry experience in a data science or software engineering role or Ph.D.
- Expert level knowledge totaling 8+ years of experience with Python and Apache Spark.
- Deep understanding of Machine Learning lifecycle, best practices, algorithms and domains (eg. anomaly detection, natural language processing, computer vision, personalization and recommendation).
- Experience collaborating with and understanding the needs of stakeholders from a variety of business functions and ability to work with domain experts to leverage their expertise into your solution.
- Familiarity with database, pipeline and machine learning tools offered by AWS and/or GCP.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced and constantly changing development environment.
- Outstanding team player with great communication skills that can build team consensus.
- Passionately motivated to take ideas from development validation to a verified product.
- Self-motivated: Demonstrated ability to set direction and guide the team towards it.
- Hands-on approach: Proactively identifies and fills in gaps where needed and make things happen.
