Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our dynamic Reliability Engineering team, which is dedicated to resolving complex data collection and analytics challenges. This role presents an opportunity to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and engineers – mechatronics, reliability, mechanical, electrical, SW, IT.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Reliability Team with local data collection and analytics solutions for ongoing automated and semi-automated reliability tests. The Data Scientist will develop and implement advanced analytics models and solutions to derive meaningful insights from large and complex datasets. They will also work closely with various teams to identify business issues, design data-driven approaches, and present findings to stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should exhibit a profound curiosity about how our software process logs critical operational information for future use. They should possess an inquisitive nature, exceptional attention to detail, be comfortable with incomplete or unstructured data, and have a fervent desire to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect, clean, and transform large and complex datasets to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Review data using statistical techniques, data visualization tools, and advanced Excel functions to identify patterns, trends, and correlations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify key metrics and develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate insights effectively.
  • Perform data mining and data extraction tasks to support various business initiatives and projects.
  • Create and automate on-going data reports to sustain program quality and improve efficiency.
  • Create simple Web based applications to enable ordinary users to benefit analytics and summary data from company’s databases.
  • Collaborate with IT, SW, FM and HW engineering teams for cross domain analytics.
  • Develop and maintain data models, databases, and data warehouses to ensure efficient data storage and accessibility.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and provide data-driven recommendations to address specific business problems or challenges.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data analysis methodologies and tools.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of data governance and data quality frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business analysts, and data engineers, to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative fields. Master's degree is a plus.
  • 1+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a comparable role, ideally in a corporate or analytical setting.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python. Experience with cloud-based platforms such as Databrick and DataRobot is a plus.
  • Experience with Python libraries for data manipulation and testing such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly is essential. Experience in Machine Learning libraries is a plus.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and scrutiny. Experience with Snowflake is beneficial.
  • Excellent data-backed abilities, including statistical scrutiny, data visualization, and reporting with tools like Excel, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Proven statistical knowledge.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex and unstructured business problems.
  • Proven communication skills with the ability to effectively convey technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work unsupervised as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proven organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with both internal and external teams.
  • Proven sense of customer service for both internal and external customers.
