The Power Conversion Technology Laboratory
within the Huawei’s Nuremberg Research Center is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning, and plays an important role in the Huawei Digital Power business in the design and development of power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage Field, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle, and Embedded Power Supply.

Data scientist - Energy storage system (m/f/d)
Your mission
- Data Analysis: Collect, process, and perform advanced statistical analysis on large datasets from energy storage systems to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Algorithm Development: Develop and implement sophisticated machine learning algorithms to forecast energy demands, optimize charging/discharging cycles, and enhance overall system efficiency.
- Predictive Modeling: Create predictive models for component lifespan, maintenance needs, and failure prediction to minimize downtime and maximize the longevity of energy storage components.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and provide actionable recommendations for optimizations, based on data-driven insights.
Your areas of expertise
- Master's degree or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
- Proven experience in a data science role
- Experience in energy systems is highly advantageous
- Proven experience working with large datasets and familiar with data mining, cleaning, and munging techniques
- High proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala;
- Proven experience in Machine Learning Tools such as Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch, Pandas
- Strong understanding of database and data warehousing (SQL and NoSQL), and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
- Fluent in written and spoken English (working language)
