WhatsApp Data Science is looking for an experienced manager to lead our Core Consumer team in London. The team’s mission is to build the best place for private conversations, ensuring WhatsApp is a place where people love to communicate with each other.

This manager will support the Cross Platform Experiences and the Sharing pillars:
- Cross Platform Experiences: Aims to make time spent on WhatsApp meaningful across all devices, with delightful experiences powered by consistent and scalable design systems.
- Sharing team: Aims to empower the world to express themselves and share moments through rich media, like photos, videos, stickers, gifs and other forms of communication people use to express themselves.

Data Science Manager - WhatsApp Responsibilities

  • Influence the product strategy and identify opportunities for growth and engagement, partnering with a large cross-functional team to deliver long-term impact.
  • Get into the product details, while also zooming out to understand the bigger picture of how these products contribute to the overall WhatsApp experience.
  • Up-level the team's work by communicating clearly and concisely with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Help the Data Science team identify the most important priorities to invest in and create space for them to go after them.
  • Scale processes with engineering and data engineering.
  • Understand experimentation best practices and coach the team as needed to ensure reliable learnings.
  • Partner with different organizations across WhatsApp and Meta.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experienced DS manager with a track-record of leading analytically complex areas and contributing to product strategy.
  • BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Physics, or other quantitative fields
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics
  • Experience communicating with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience with SQL (Oracle, Vertica, Hive, MySQL, etc.)
  • Experience with statistical analysis and stat packages such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and deadlines
