About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious Researcher / Data Scientist, who wants to make a strong impact while conducting various research projects and analyses, highly influencing the business aspects of the company, works at a fast pace, demonstrates creative thinking, knows how to clearly convey the research to both highly technological stakeholders and executive business stakeholders.

This individual will join the research department, focusing on one of our various credit products and work closely with the production environment.

In this role, you will research Pagaya’s models behavior and performance prior and post its deployment to production, optimize the models with production data, optimize and contribute to Pagaya’s portfolio management considering diverse metrics and aspects and create ML and statistical tools to enhance Pagaya’s prediction models.

In this role you, will be of the key teams with the most influential impact on Pagaya’s production and performance. 

Responsibilities

• Research, design and implement data-driven solutions for the company’s core mission using Data Science methodologies from various domains.
• Optimize these solutions using our production data.
• Work in a short life-cycle research and development environment.
• Generate and test working hypotheses in unexplored territory.
• Use and develop statistical algorithms and techniques to create and improve our analytics and deep-dive capabilities.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in Research, Machine Learning, Data Analysis, including experience with predictive modeling on tabular data.
• Track record of translating research into business impact.
• Math/EE/CS/Physics/Stats graduate with an honored BSc or MSc.
• Great interpersonal skills.
• Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
• Strong scripting and programming skills, preferably in Python.
• Independent and fast learner that can work alone and in teams.
• A good executer, who knows how to work at a fast pace and make an immediate impact.
• Ability to learn and explore new fields of expertise.
• Good communication skills, ability to explain and simplify complex ideas.
• Experience or academic knowledge in financial domains - an advantage
