Machine Learning (ML) Engineer

Evolver Federal is seeking an experienced and highly adaptable Machine Learning (ML) Engineer to support a federal customer. The ML Engineer will Research, build, and design the AI responsible for machine learning. In this position the ML Engineer will maintain and improve existing AI systems and serve as a liaison with other data science team members, collaborating with the data scientists who develop models for building AI systems. It is the ML Engineer's responsibility to run experiments and tests, perform statistical analyses, and develop machine learning systems.

Responsibilities

• Working with project managers to establish objectives for AI systems.
• Creating AI algorithm prototypes based on project specifications.
• Running tests to assess AI performance.
• Analyzing data gathered during tests to identify strengths and weaknesses of AI.
• Experience in solution architecture and design, translating business requirements into technical specifications, and developing scalable and robust AI solutions.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with advancements in the field of AI.
• Productionize ML models: Refactor Python or R codes into production-ready code and ensure the models are scalable.
• Perform Integration Validation and Verification of developed algorithms.
• Productionize the ML models developed by data scientists.
• Develop AI and ML pipelines for continuous operation, feedback and monitoring of ML models leveraging best practices from the CI/CD vertical within the ML Ops domain

Basic Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with ML frameworks
• Bachelor's Degree in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science, data science, or mathematics
• Industry certification from AWS (Machine Learning), Google (Professional Machine Learning Engineer), or academic institutions
• 5 years experience in C++, Java, and Python
• 5 years experience with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face
• 5 years experience with ML operationalization and orchestration (MLOps) tools, techniques, and platforms. This includes scaling delivery of ML Models (MLOps), managing and governing AI Models (ModelOps), and managing and scaling AI platforms (platform ops for AI)
• 5 years experience with AWS cloud technologies
• US Citizen with ability to pass a DHS specific clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MS or higher) in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science, data science, or mathematics
• Understanding in the usage of libraries such as SciKit Learn, Pandas, Matplotlib, etc. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services.
• In depth knowledge of ML algorithms such as linear regression, decision trees, support vector machines, and clustering algorithms
• Experience with data wrangling, cleaning, and reprocessing
• Solid background and understanding of mathematics, specifically linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics
• Strong programming skills
• Knowledge of Cyber Security Frameworks; NIST 800-53, SANS Top 20, OWASP Top 10
• Deep knowledge of cloud technologies and ML frameworks
• Excellent critical thinking skills
• Well organized with ability to communicate complex topics effectively across teams
