Field Marketing Manager
2025 is a big year for Proton—and events are at the heart of how we grow. We’re doubling down on field marketing to drive pipeline, deepen customer relationships, and make a lasting impression in the market.
That’s where you come in. As our Field Marketer, you won’t just be booking booths and printing badges. You’ll be the force behind 20+ high-impact events a year—from major trade shows to intimate customer dinners. Your work will shape how prospects first experience Proton and how customers deepen their connection with our brand.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you’ll work cross-functionally to turn every event into real pipeline. You’ll have the autonomy to own strategy and execution—testing new formats, optimizing what works, and building a playbook others will follow.
If you thrive on running the show, obsess over the details, and get a rush from seeing your work drive real results, this role is for you.
We are looking to hire someone in the greater Boston area who is open to a hybrid schedule (Office located in Kendall Square in Cambridge). This role offers a salary range of $95,000 to $115,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
What you’ll do:
- Plan and execute standout events: Own end-to-end logistics for 20+ events a year, including industry conferences, trade shows, and intimate dinners. You’ll handle everything from selecting which events we attend to securing sponsorships, coordinating booth materials, and managing on-site execution. Whether it’s a packed expo floor or an intimate dinner, you’ll ensure we show up with purpose—and leave with follow-up meetings.
- Drive pipeline and optimize performance: Set clear goals for every event and track what moves the needle. You’ll ensure leads are captured and followed up on, analyze ROI, and report back on results. Your job is to constantly learn, test, and refine our playbook—so we’re always improving how we generate high-quality pipeline from events.
- Identify and evaluate event opportunities: Research and recommend new conferences, sponsorships, and speaking engagements that can elevate Proton’s brand and connect us with the right audience.
- Enable the team and run tight field ops: Make sure reps are prepped and ready to prospect. Coordinate booth shipments, manage event logistics, and be on the ground to troubleshoot, support the team, and make sure every event runs smoothly.
- Build a tailored playbook for every event: Every event is different—and it’s your job to crack the code. You’ll figure out what optimal booth placement looks like, how each event runs, and what it takes to stand out. Your job is to make sure we show up prepared, leave with the most meetings possible, and improve with every event.
Who you are:
- You have 2–3 years of event planning experience and know what it takes to make them successful. Experience in B2B software or SaaS marketing is a plus.
- You’re a strong project manager. You can juggle multiple projects, venues, vendors, and timelines without missing a beat. You’re highly organized and detail-oriented.
- You’re a clear communicator. You can negotiate with partners, and keep teams in the loop. You’re comfortable interacting with customers, prospects, and execs at events.
- You take ownership and collaborate well. You bring others along and align cross-functional teams. You take initiative and see programs through from idea to execution.
- You’re resourceful and calm under pressure. You know how to troubleshoot when things go sideways—which they often do at live events.
- You’re ready to travel. You’re excited by the idea of being on the road. You’re open to traveling across North America ~30–40% of the time.
- You’re tech savvy. You’ve used tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, or Outreach. You’re comfortable navigating CRMs and marketing systems to manage leads and coordinate follow-up.
