The role

The Data Science & Analytics Manager – Infrastructure is a hands-on role responsible for delivering data products and services to achieve the objectives of the data strategy, optimise and improve business outcomes and innovate through the use of data within the infrastructure domain.

You’ll lead and develop the data science & analytics team, ensuring that capability supports the creation of value and innovation whilst also evolving to meet future business needs. This position is also 2IC to the GM Operational Information & Insights, and will play a key role in bridging strategic objectives and the data solutions required for their delivery.

In this role, you’ll enjoy the sort of satisfaction that comes with knowing you’re playing an integral part in Vector achieving our Symphony Strategy, keeping the lights on and homes warm across Auckland whilst driving a sustainable new energy future.

Who are we looking for?

  • You’ll hold a qualification in a related discipline such as data science, software development, mathematics/statistics, or engineering
  • A thought leader, you’ll have a wealth of data science/analysis experience, including developing data solutions to support evolving business perspectives and needs
  • You’ll have a track record as an effective people leader, adept at supporting a team to fulfil their potential, coupled with strategic nous of our changing industry and the role of data within that
  • Experience within the energy industry is advantageous, but not essential.
