What the job involves

Hayden AI seeks a data engineer to support the company’s deep learning team in revolutionizing public transit. Building out Hayden’s tooling that enables advanced data set access and filtering to boost the team's productivity, this role will collaborate closely with deep learning engineers, data scientists, backend software engineers, and site reliability engineers, driving high-impact data initiatives critical to the company’s rapid growth.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Manage cloud-based data storage for structured and unstructured data sets.

  • Deploy and monitor machine learning models produced by deep learning engineers.

  • Design, deploy, and maintain performant and scalable processes to acquire and manipulate data and make datasets more easily accessible to the team.

  • Participate actively in the team's software development process, including design reviews, code reviews, and brainstorming sessions. Keep software development documents accurate and updated.

  • Proactively remove roadblocks and escalate issues when encountered.

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing data tools for geospatial image and video datasets. 

  • Experience with the AWS services and tools + Kafka, s3 and Postgres DB.

  • Experience working with data scientists and/or deep learning engineers.

  • 5+ years of programming in one or more languages (Python, Go, C/C++)

  • Experience with CI/CD automation Test Driven Development.

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Excellent communication, verbal and written.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with start-ups.

  • Experience with InfluxDB.

  • Experience with GIS software and geospatial data.
