What the job involves

Hayden AI is looking for a passionate Staff Quality Engineer to drive end-to-end quality efforts for our connected platform and data service. In this role you will define the test plans and lead the cross functional team validating the product performs to our quality standards and meets the customer needs in development and in production. The ideal candidate will have strong ownership, be customer focused, and excel in a dynamic environment. They will bring experience launching best-in-class quality products, and building the foundations to scale efforts for the future.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering and cross-functional end-to-end quality programs.

  • Advocate for quality and drive improvements in product quality across the company. 

  • Design and execute test plans for engineering programs. 

  • Lead release management for software, firmware, algorithm, and configuration changes. 

  • Hands on testing and test automation as necessary. 

  • Monitor product performance in production, and build mechanisms for early anomaly detection. 

  • Build automation tools and platforms to improve coverage and accelerate releases. 

  • Run critical “P0” issue investigations. 

  • Team and executive level reporting on release, engineering, and product quality. 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in R&D quality.

  • Experience leading the overall quality efforts of at least 3 new products into production. 

  • Strong technical background in connected device software, data as a product, machine learning, and cloud systems, with expertise in the latest quality methodology, tools, and best practices.

  • Experience working closely with multidisciplinary technical teams to drive quality for risk-sensitive products. 

  • Deep knowledge of tools and techniques for managing complex product development through its entire lifecycle. 

  • Advanced knowledge of automation architecture, methodologies, processes, and tools for quality. 

  • Experience with the public transportation domain is a plus. 

  • Experience delivering innovative technologies to government agencies is a plus. 

  • B.S. in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
