  Job Purpose:

As a Senior Principal Data & AI Portfolio Strategy & Agile Delivery reporting to the Senior Director for MSAT and Quality Data & AI Products) you will drive the overall delivery performance of an exciting portfolio of Data & AI products for our internal Quality and MSAT (Manufacturing Science and Technology) functions within GSK’s Global Supply Chain Organisation.

Working with Business Leaders, Data & AI Product Management, Third Parties and other key roles with Tech and Business organisations you will own the overall planning and coordination of the MSAT and Quality Data & AI portfolio, leading quarterly planning events and week-to-week delivery tracking.  You will drive improvements in Product Team ways-of-working, optimising the release of features and ultimately the flow of value.  You will work cross-functionally with partners groups in Data Platforms, Solution Architecture, AI/ML, and others to ensure risks and dependencies are well managed.  You will take the lead on other operational and strategic initiatives as required to maintain and improve portfolio performance.

Data & AI Products currently being delivered by the team include: essential dashboards/reports with hundreds of daily users, rapid and efficient ML analysis of images from labs and manufacturing, robustness-monitoring of manufacturing and testing processes, automation of document creation and other workflows with Generative AI.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading planning and coordination across MSATQ portfolio, running quarterly PI planning process and ongoing tracking of progress of committed deliverables and performance against key metrics
  • Overseeing key portfolio-wide processes including demand and value management
  • Driving continuous improvement in MSATQ Portfolio, accelerating delivery of features and flow of value using Agile, Lean and DevSecOps practices
  • Standardising ways-of-working across teams to create consistent patterns, drive synergies and ensure clear roles & responsibilities, repeatable processes and reusable templates
  • Acting as a change agent, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging collaboration between roles involved in portfolio delivery including: Product Directors, Product Managers, Solution Architects, User Experience Designers, and Data and AI/ML Engineers
  • Facilitating communication between delivery groups within Portfolio and with dependent teams including Platform, Architecture, Data Governance and AI/ML
  • Providing guidance, direction and coaching to teams to improve Agile ways-of-working and lean thinking, encouraging and facilitating Communities of Practice within and beyond portfolio for areas such as Quality, Engineering, SAFe, Agile, and Lean
  • Collaborating with Product Management and Solution/Enterprise Architecture to look ahead across future quarters and ensure strategic alignment of new capability/technology with functional needs and timelines of Products
  • Engaging with GSK's Strategic Partners (SPs) to onboard the right contractor talent, conduct quarterly performance reviews and drive consistency and continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Leading and driving portfolio-level strategic initiatives such as strategic partner reviews and operating model design & transformations  
  • Supporting Product Managers with operational activities at the Product/Product Family level (e.g. financial management/reporting, risk management, resource management and dependency management)

Basic Qualifications

A highly motivated, collaborative individual with technology experience, exceptional communication skills and proven experience working with diverse teams of technical architects, business users and technology teams on all phases of the software development life cycle. Qualifications include:

  • Total 16+ years of experience and worked on across all phases of software development including design, configuration, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of large-scale, business-centric and process-based applications
  • Proven capability to drive continuous improvement in Product Management & Agile ways-of-working though maturity assessment, coaching, customer-centric design, Communities of Practice, etc.
  • Expertise in demand intake, planning and management, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and available capability/capacity
  • Ability to communicate and engage effectively with business and technical stakeholders across different organizational levels
  • Ability to effectively translate business needs and use cases into technical requirements for data and analytics as part of effort assessment and estimation for new demand
  • Awareness of regulatory expectations regarding data integrity and use of software for regulated business processes
  • Ability to effectively manage work in tools such as Aha!, JIRA and ADO,

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with following desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) Certification
  • Certified Scaled Agile Program Consultant (SPC)
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies, e.g. Six Sigma, Lean
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical and/or Vaccines Manufacturing domains
  • Experience in managing Data & AI products, projects, and programs
