The Character.AI Strategy & Operations team focuses on our highest priorities, solving complex, ambiguous problems that span early state growth initiatives, investing in our largest product or business areas, making major operational or organizational changes, and assessing strategic rationale for Character.AI external investment opportunities. Throughout, the team provides analytics-based insights, ensures cross-functional alignment of goals and execution, helps Character.AI teams drive the most important strategic initiatives, and advises our senior leadership on the best path forward.
Successful candidates for this role will have a deep understanding of the product landscape, including trends, players, technologies, and underlying dynamics. They will partner with cross-functional teams and executives, and communicate their insights and recommendations to product leaders and executives.
This role is located in one of the San Francisco Bay Area office locations.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will work closely with the Character.AI leadership team as well as leaders across the product, engineering, research, and business organizations to help chart the long-term direction for Character.AI. This role includes the following responsibilities:
Work on the priorities of Character.AI’s leadership and determine how to best solve the company’s opportunities and challenging problems.
Structure, launch, and drive strategy workstreams including developing hypotheses, designing work plans, conducting analysis (including financial models), analyzing market / competitive trends, assessing business drivers and operating metrics, synthesizing recommendations on business decisions, and catalyzing launches with cross-functional teams.
Provide analytics and decision support for the planning and steering of the business.
Prepare presentations and communicate findings to Character.AI’s leadership and the broader organization.
Work with cross-functional teams to align on recommendations, financial and headcount investments, and launch plans.
Qualifications
Masters’ degree or equivalent in business, marketing, analytical, engineering, or other related quantitative discipline (e.g. MBA).
8+ years of experience in management consulting, strategy, finance, business operations, corporate strategy, investment management, product management, or similar at a leading startup, tech/media company and/or strategy consulting.
Experience working in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
Quantitative, analytical and conceptual problem solving skills combined with business acumen.
Experience structuring and solving product problems, and influencing product decisions to move insights to action.
