The Position
COE Data Science and Biostatistics is looking for experienced data science professional to join our team. The team is mainly delivering data science projects within the drug manufacturing space, so a good opportunity for data scientist with interest/background in bioprocesses. Challenges in the pharmaceutical manufacturing space differ from other standard data science use-cases: smaller amount of data available, difficult mapping of the data on the process, many black box processes that needs to be simulated. This data science position is part of bigger innovation team with experience in this space providing a perfect learning opportunity.
What will you do?
Selecting appropriate analytical techniques and algorithms to best to solve business challenges,
Ability to choose right tools and right infrastructure for data science projects and articulate those decisions,
Ensuring quality delivery according to the standards and best practices methodology,
Technical mentorship to junior team members,
Leading data science projects,
Driving the development of the SW code (quality, documented, and reusable) to execute data science algorithms,
Communication & collaboration with diverse stakeholders,
Understanding of the business context of the decisions to be supported,
Building mathematical or statistical models using the available data,
Use of R or python to design and develop analytical models and data science products using advanced techniques such as simulations, optimizations, machine learning,
Assessment of the output of analytical solution and use the data to draw conclusions, identification of options, and making recommendations,
Interpret the results and provide the advices to the business stakeholders,
Building and maintaining of knowledge on the data sources, the data quality and metadata,
Recognition of the repeatable situation and suggesting the appropriate level of automation of analytics,
Promotion of a culture of modeling and analytics as a differentiator and competitive advantage – an environment that places high value on embedding analytical tools within business processes, and using information to make fact-based decisions,
Staying in touch with modern methodology within predictive modeling.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required
University Degree,
Passion for advanced analytics (mathematics),
Passion for good quality code,
Experience with version controls systems such as git and collaboration tools,
The ability to formulate models, analyze them, and program and run in some appropriate system (for example R or python),
Experience and/or ability to quickly learn new tools like Dataiku, SageMaker, Databricks, MLflow/Spark/distributed compute environment,
Extensive knowledge in one or more of the following areas: mathematical analysis and modeling, probability, stochastic processes, econometrics, machine learning, optimization, simulations, software development,
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to make high-level presentations for senior executives,
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work with incomplete or imperfect data, including ability to interpret and use the analytics results within the real business context,
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a globally dispersed team.
