Hybrid work
Udemy is headquartered in San Francisco with global offices in Australia, India, Ireland, Türkiye, and other US locations. Our robust hybrid work model spans San Francisco, Denver, Ankara, Dublin, and Melbourne.
This hybrid position requires two days per week in the office at the nearest hub.

About this role
We are looking for a highly proactive and skilled Sr. Data Scientist to join our Marketing Analytics team, focusing on delivering actionable insights and reporting through continuous, in-depth data analysis. The ideal candidate will leverage statistical and analytical techniques to interpret complex data, identify key trends, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization by crafting data backed narratives. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, a passion for data, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
What you'll be doing
- Partner with marketing stakeholders to shape our marketing strategy by defining clear problem statements, assessing growth opportunities, and recommending areas of investments and optimization
- Conduct ongoing in-depth analysis of marketing performance metrics, customer behavior, and market trends to assess marketing channel health, identify optimization opportunities and improve ROI.
- Be proactive in seeking and identifying business questions that can be addressed through analysis and provide regular, clear updates to stakeholders to enable critical decision making
- Understand our customer lifecycle states and develop segmentation using advanced analytical techniques to help shape lifecycle marketing initiatives
- Develop dashboards and visualizations to effectively communicate insights and KPIs to stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making at all levels of the organization.
- Be a primary analytics driver for developing our business data layer in collaboration with Analytics Engineering and Data teams.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data science and marketing analytics, and apply them to enhance our analytical capabilities.
What you’ll have:
- Bachelor’s or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related quantitative field
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in data analytics, data science, or a related field, with a strong focus on continuous insights generation to create business impact
- Experience with data pipelining tools such as DBT and Airflow, and proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Highly proficient in Tableau or other data visualization platforms, with a strong understanding of best practices for dashboarding and visualization
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Python or R
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
- Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and clearly communicate findings

Actual compensation for this role is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, and specific work location due to differences in the cost of labor.
