A Research Fellow position is available at the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Nanyang Technological University of Singapore for AI Net-Zero Energy Building Project. We are seeking potential researchers in the area of AI and smart energy management, especially, AI applications on HAVC control. Enthusiastic and self-motivated research candidates with strong publication record and research profile are welcome to apply.

We are looking for a Research Fellow to support the research for the project on building energy management with AI.

Key Responsibilities:

The Research Fellow will be responsible for undertaking in-depth research in the AI solutions for building energy management to improve the building energy efficiency toward net-zero energy building. They will be working closely with the team members on one or more research projects together in terms of interesting and challenging real-world datasets and problem statements.

  • Design and develop new state-of-the-art AI algorithms and applications for the control and operation of building servicing system (especially HVAC system).

  • Investigate and analyze real dataset availability and lead dataset generation.

  • Demonstrate AI solutions on real world testbeds.

  • Publish high-quality research papers with research outcomes in top-tier international journals and conferences.

Job Requirements:

  • PhD Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field

  • A thorough knowledge of the research field of AI (e.g., deep reinforcement learning) and energy management (e.g., building energy management) is highly preferred.

  • Experienced in building energy system models by professional software, e.g., TRNSYS, EnergyPlus, or Matlab Simulink

  • Experienced in using the latest AI, and big data platforms.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

Candidates with strong publication record in relevant areas are encouraged to apply.  The candidate should have a PhD degree, or is going to obtain the PhD degree in coming months.
