Job Description

As our Project Manager, you'll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring our innovative solutions are delivered seamlessly and efficiently. Your daily activities and key expectations will include:

  • Orchestrating Project Progress: Continuously leading and coordinating the various phases of our Optical Transport and Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) projects. This means actively driving daily project activities, tracking milestones, and ensuring teams are aligned and unblocked.
  • Ensuring Solution Clarity: Regularly creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for customer-specific optical solutions, ensuring all technical and operational details are clear and accessible.
  • Facilitating Cross-Functional Alignment: Actively collaborating with market units and technical engineering teams to gather, refine, and align solution requirements and specifications, ensuring everyone is on the same page.
  • Managing Vendor Performance: Continuously monitoring and assessing subcontractor performance, addressing any issues promptly to ensure high-quality contributions and adherence to project timelines.
  • Driving Innovation & Feasibility: Regularly contributing to the design and feasibility assessment of new solutions through hands-on participation in proof of concept (PoC) initiatives.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), analyzing project data, and preparing professional, insightful reports for stakeholders. You'll also continuously oversee quality assurance processes to maintain high standards.
  • Ensuring Project Success: Engaging in ongoing contract discussions and diligent oversight to ensure the successful and timely delivery of projects, meeting both technical and business objectives.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • English proficiency at C1 level.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management.
  • Proven experience in project coordination and technical leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to produce clear, structured documentation.
  • Solid background in optical transport technologies, subcontractor management, and process optimization.
  • In-depth understanding of DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) technologies, principles, and equipment used to increase bandwidth and optimize optical fiber performance.
  • Familiarity with various WDM platforms, including vendor-specific solutions, and knowledge of related access technologies (e.g., Passive Optical Networks, Metro Ethernet, etc.).
  • Ability to contribute to solution design and collaborate with engineering teams on advanced optical transport solutions.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and with a strong sense of ownership.

Nice to Have

While not required, the following skills and experience would be a strong advantage:

  • Experience working with end-to-end optical transport systems.
  • German Language Skills: Proficiency in German is an advantage, particularly for collaborating with German-speaking customers, market units, and partners.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (e.g., BigQuery, Vertex AI, Cloud Run, Kubernetes).
