About the Role
The Product Security Leader is responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of all products throughout their lifecycle, from development to deployment and maintenance. This role involves leading a team of security experts to identify vulnerabilities, implement robust security measures, and respond to emerging threats. Additionally, the Head of Product Security collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into product design and development processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.
In this role, you will:
Develop and Implement Security Strategies: Formulate and execute comprehensive security policies, procedures, and frameworks to protect the product lifecycle from design to deployment.
Team Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of security professionals, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and resources to address security challenges.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and threat modeling to identify and mitigate potential security risks in products.
Incident Response and Management: Oversee the response to security incidents, coordinating efforts to investigate, contain, and resolve breaches or vulnerabilities effectively.
Collaboration with Development Teams: Work closely with product development teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle, ensuring security is built into products from the ground up.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure that all products comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and security certifications, keeping abreast of evolving security requirements and legislation.
You might thrive in this role if you:
Extensive experience in information security, cybersecurity, or a related field, with a significant portion of that experience in leadership or management roles.
Deep understanding of security technologies, tools, and best practices, including experience with secure coding practices, threat modeling, risk assessments, and incident response.
Proven ability to lead and manage a team of security professionals, with strong skills in mentoring, coaching, and developing talent.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging security threats, trends, and technologies, as well as familiarity with relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
