Develop and implement Navy Federal’s Enterprise AI Strategy by directing and executing AI initiatives and projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify AI opportunities, driving innovation, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Analyze business unit challenges and leverage data insights to develop AI-driven business cases that enhance member experience and improve operational efficiency. Identify AI capabilities to inform the enterprise AI investment roadmap and conduct market scans for emerging AI trends and opportunities. Lead and develop team of AI strategists and data scientists tasked with furthering Navy Federal’s Enterprise AI Strategy.
- Assist in leading the AI Strategy function to ensure alignment with Navy Federal’s strategic goals.
- Identify and drive opportunities for AI innovation to enhance member experience, enhance efficiencies, and create growth opportunities.
- Present AI strategy and progress to senior leadership in support of AI investments and initiatives.
- Iterate and improve on the frameworks for AI experimentation and learning.
- Develop and track metrics and KPIs to measure the impact of AI initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to ethical AI principles and data privacy regulations.
- Stay updated on AI advancements, industry trends, and best practices to enhance AI initiatives.
- Support the development and maintenance of team-specific components of the Division Annual Financial Plan (AFP).
- Participate in organization-wide project teams and ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Develop and implement new or updated policies, procedures, goals, and priorities as needed.
- Manage a team of AI Strategists and Data Scientists, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Business Administration, or related field or the equivalent combination of training, education, knowledge of the AI/ML industry and evolving new advances in the field (e.g., Generative AI, Prompt Engineering).
- 5+ years experience in AI/ML and innovation and familiarity with AI/ML industry trends and advancements.
- Significant experience in creating and executing strategy for cross-enterprise initiatives.
- Advanced skill in effectively delivering technical information with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Significant experience in project management and delivering AI initiatives from concept to execution.
- Advanced knowledge of banking/financial industry trends, products, and services.
- Experience executing in a fast-paced, high-demand environment while balancing multiple priorities.
- Advanced critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Significant experience managing and mentoring a team of AI professionals.
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Business Administration, or related field or the equivalent combination of training or education.
- Experience and knowledge of the AI/ML industry and evolving new advances in the field (e.g., Generative AI, Prompt Engineering).
- Familiarity with AI ethics, governance, and risk management.
