As part of the APAC/India HPC/AI group, your role will be to define, architect, develop & support the sales process for technology and solutions. You will work closely with HPC/AI Sales, HPC/AI GBU R&D and Product Group, marketing, external partners, and stakeholders. This activity will require a high level of interaction with various HPE organizations and partners and a deep knowledge of hardware platforms, HPC/AI software infrastructure, and solution development. Engages in account transactions based on technical expertise required in specific deals/programs leveraging specialized knowledge base across multiple accounts. Focuses on areas of technical expertise, e.g., particular products/areas within the company’s global business units. Responsible for technical consulting work with customers in selling and supporting company products, services, systems, and software. Provides technical support in sales presentations, product demonstrations, and customer training.

Management Level Definition:

On a typical day, you would apply advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and be regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently you would contribute to the development of new ideas and methods and work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. You would lead and/or provide expertise to functional project teams. You may participate in cross-functional initiatives and act as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently you would represent the organization to external customers/clients and exercise significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine the best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. You may provide mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees.

Responsibilities:

  • HPC/AI Presales tasks as a team member of the APAC/India HPC/AI Presales team
  • Solution architecting, system configuration, technical consulting, presentation delivery, and sales support for general HPC/AI area.
  • Participates in deep-dive discussions and evaluates customers' current business needs and desired end-state infrastructure solutions to translate the technical view into the implementation view and determine implementation steps necessary to meet complex technical requirements.  Delivers in-depth comparative analysis of alternative proposals to meet complex technical solution requirements.
  • Maintains excellent communication with customers, with a key focus on IT managers, administrators, and specialists.
  • Uses pipeline insights to prioritize high-potential deal pursuit activities with appropriate resource investment.  Communicates to the account team the tangible offer value regarding financial return and achievement of business goals.
  • Provides direction and guidance to improve processes and establish policies.  Works with partners to identify gaps and address needs to accelerate channel business.
  • Assesses the impact of new technologies on the company's technical solution portfolio and translates this understanding into practice and knowledge-sharing activities for broader presales peers, account managers, and partners.
  • Actively monitors competitive activities and their client advocates within accounts to anticipate and plan for competitive threats.  Increases the company's share of wallet through competitive takeout, demonstrating technical superiority, and leveraging other company services for better TCO/ROI.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or from a technical university.
  • 5+ years of experience in the technology industry with a focus on technical consulting and solution selling.
  • HPC/AI-related experience preferred
  • Presales experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrates expert technical skills in assigned area of specialization.
  • Expert knowledge of the company offerings, strategic initiatives, current trends, competitor products, and strategies within the area of responsibility.
  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills and mastery over English and local language.
  • Demonstrates expert consultative selling techniques, including active listening, framing, whiteboarding, storytelling, etc.
  • Advanced experience with using social media, blogging, and related information-sharing technologies.
  • Broad knowledge of partner´s and non-standard partner´s offerings and how/when to leverage them for deals within the area of specialization.
  • Strong project management knowledge or experience with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including appropriate due diligence.
  • Excellent business and financial acumen, with an understanding of financial return and achievement of business goals.
  • Strong knowledge of HPC/AI Software stack and applications
  • Ability to assess when is on-prem better than Cloud, or not.
  • Understanding of how infrastructure scales as the model scales.
  • Strong communicator, presenter, and technologist evangelist
  • Curiosity/interest in continuous learning to stay at the forefront of challenges
