Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead Verbit’s Legal Technology business. As the GM, you will be responsible for our Legal Technology business including go to market strategy, driving growth, overseeing Sales, and shaping the strategic direction of the division. You will work closely with the CRO and Verbit leadership to align business objectives, manage cross-functional teams, and deliver exceptional value to our legal clients. Will also work closely with Marketing, Operations and Product Management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy for Verbit’s Legal vertical.
- Identify market opportunities, design the go to market strategy while recognizing trends to expand the company’s presence in the legal sector.
- Implement innovation in product offerings to meet evolving needs of law firms.
- Revenue Growth
- Own the division’s P&L, ensuring revenue targets and profitability goals are met
- Collaborate with the CRO to design and implement effective sales and market strategies
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients and industry stakeholders
- Operational Excellence:
- Manage budgets, resource allocation, financial planning for the division.
- Customer relations:
- Be the external face of the company towards the legal industry
- Team Leadership
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team across sales, marketing and product (?)
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Set clear goals and KPI’s and regularly review performance.
- Collaboration and Reporting
- Work closely with the CRO and other senior leaders to align the division’s objectives and overall company goals.
- Provide regular updates on business performances, challenges, and opportunities.
- Represent the legal division in executive meetings and industry events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or related field. MBA or equivalent is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in leadership roles, preferably in legal tech, SaaS, or related industry. Experience with Law firms is mandatory. Selling to or for Court reporting agencies is an advantage
- Proven track record of driving fast revenue growth and managing P&L.
- Working in startups an advantage
- Strong understanding of the legal industry and its technological needs.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in scaling businesses and leading cross-functional teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
