Data Science Intern

What you will do 

The Global Consumer Experience - Consumer Care (GCC) Reporting & Analytics Intern will provide coding and project coordination services for the GCC organization.  The prospective candidate will assist in the planning, architecting, building, testing and project coordination of technical tools to support the organizations.  The Intern will escalate to the project business leads when a technical task becomes at risk for completing on time.  This role is charged with supporting projects and operational activities with the development of business tools. The position is expected to make development and business analysis recommendations

 

Key Responsibilities

·    User Requirements Gathering.

·    User/Functional/Design Specifications Documentation.

·    Build of code based on User/Functional/Design Specifications.

·    Update code based on user defect remediations.

·    Problem solve application/script issues.

·    Develop, execute and document test scripts. 

·    Report project/business operations status to project managers and business leads.  

·    Escalate issues and showstoppers. 

·    Provide status reports at project/operational staff meetings. 

·    Build VB/SQL/R prototypes, along with the updating of VB/SQL/R scripts that will query and automate the database querying and reporting steps.

·    Build code in VB and Microsoft Flow to merge reports automatically and periodically from different data sources.

·    Build Generative AI tools such as Writer and ChatGPT that will streamline reporting and analysis processes. 

·    Produce single, comprehensive reports and copy to fileshares.

·    Maintain and implement enhancements to Excel spreadsheets that will automatically execute a series of operational steps.

·    Create KPI dashboards in Tableau, Power BI and Excel.

·    Use Python or Microsoft Flow to systematically parse through Microsoft Word documents to create data-driven outputs in an automated fashion. 

·    Reverse engineering data models from flat files. 

Qualifications

 

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

·        Studying towards an undergraduate in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information System and/or related disciplines.

·        Able to commit for 6 months from January 2025 to June 2025.

·        Be available to work 3:00 pm – 12:00 am PH Time from Monday through Friday or at least 4 days per week.

·        Have programming proficiencies in Visual Basic, Tableau, R and SQL (Python experience a plus).

·        Experience with development of Visual Basic macros and Tableau business process dashboards.   

·        Experience with Generative AI applications such as Writer and ChatGPT a plus.

·        Quick study who can rapidly gather, understand and document user requirements. 

·        Creative and positive problem solver with strong analytical skills and ability to pinpoint problems based on analysis required. 

·        Passion for software development, detail orientated yet able “to see the forest through the trees” required. 

·        Have excellent/proficient written and spoken communication skills in English.

·        Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate with a diverse range of audiences required.

·        Ability to work successfully independently or in collaboration required.

·        Exercises good judgment.
