What will your role look like?
We are looking for an Ethics Specialist with a strong foundation in AI and technology ethics to support our work in ensuring fairness, transparency, and responsible AI. This is a fully remote position, but candidates should be located within UTC to UTC+3 time zones to facilitate collaboration. This role is ideal for someone who has foundational expertise in AI and ethics and is looking to further develop their skills in a dynamic and mission-driven organization.
As an Ethics Specialist, you will contribute to research, ethical assessments, and compliance efforts related to AI and data protection. Your work will help shape best practices and ethical frameworks for emerging technologies.
Responsibilities
• Research and Analysis: Stay updated on personal data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, AI Act) and assess their implications in different industries.
• Ethical Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate ethical risks in AI and technology projects.
• Compliance and Governance: Support Data Protection by Design initiatives to align with legal and ethical standards.
• Ethical Reviews: Conduct qualitative assessments of AI systems, policies, and processes.
• Training and Communication: Assist in the development of training sessions on ethical frameworks and responsible AI.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with internal teams and external partners to integrate ethical best practices into projects.
• Project Support: Manage tasks across multiple projects while maintaining research quality.
What We’re Looking For:
• 3-4 years of experience in ethics, AI governance, data protection, or a related field.
• Familiarity with GDPR, AI Act, and other relevant regulations.
• Experience conducting ethical impact assessments or reviews.
• Strong qualitative research skills (e.g., interviews, case studies, risk analysis).
• Ability to communicate ethical insights effectively to diverse audiences.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects.
Nice to Have
• Experience working on Horizon Europe projects.
• Familiarity with ClickUp, Asana, or other project management tools.
• Basic proficiency with qualitative research software (e.g., Atlas.ti, NVivo).
• Previous experience working in remote, distributed teams.
