The opportunity

As a Data Scientist at our university, you'll promote student success through data-driven insights. Working within our analytics team, you'll report to the Director of Data Science and collaborate with student-facing staff, leadership, and business development teams to enhance both on-campus and online educational experiences. This role is remote friendly.

What you'll do:

• Develop predictive models and perform data analyses to address key business challenges in education
• Translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for cross-functional teams
• Apply machine learning techniques to improve our analytical tools and targeting strategies
• Integrate external data sources to enrich our datasets and enhance analytical capabilities
• Foster a data-driven culture through effective communication of insights and collaboration

What we're looking for:

• 2+ years of experience within Data Science, Data Engineering/Computer Science.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Applied Math, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, and Computer Science)
• Proficiency in data science tools and programming languages like Python, and SQL
• Experience applying statistical and machine learning techniques to real-world problems
• Experience communicating complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience using data science to improve educational outcomes

Additional Experience with:

• Experience with generative AI product development in educational technology applications preferred.
