- The position offers college students the opportunity to work with the Data Science department of the North America Data and Analytics organization during the summer. Interns are exposed to many facets of analytics work and techniques and are introduced to insurance terminology and concepts. As a member of the Data Science team, students will help analyze data to derive meaningful insights, build Machine Learning or Deep Learning models, get exposure to Generative AI, and learn coding and Data Science best practices. In addition to working closely with their supervisor, interns are given an opportunity to network with other members of the Analytics Department and present their findings to leaders.
- Work with large structured and unstructured datasets across multiple source systems to generate insights and solve business problems.
- Build advanced AI models to solve problems related to pricing, underwriting and client lifetime value.
- Learn to leverage LLMs in the context of business needs.
- Present results to both technical and non-technical leaders.
- Pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, or other analytical / quantitative fields of study.
- Strong foundation in Statistics and Mathematics.
- Experience in Python programming including common libraries such as Scikit Learn, Pandas, NumPy, NLTK etc. Exposure to other languages like R is preferred.
- Knowledge of databases and approaches to extracting data preferred.
- Familiar with the development of Machine Learning & Deep Learning models.
- Text Analytics & Natural Language Processing experience preferred.
The pay range for this internship is $18 to $24 per hour. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
