As a member of Sanofi’s Data Products team, you will be working on a team that is globally diverse, with members here in Toronto as well as across our Digital global hubs in France, Spain, India, Hungary, and USA. You’ll be engaged in a structured program that’s focused on driving the growth of your technical knowledge and business acumen. Based on your skills and background, you’ll be aligned to one of Sanofi’s core Digital functions to deliver on meaningful strategic initiatives - whether that be in data science, data and business analysis, data and ML engineering, software engineering, data strategy, or digital strategy and operations. This approach ensures that you specialize in your area of interest, while being engaged as part of a larger cohort of colleagues to collectively build core skills in strategic problem solving, product design, agile ways of working, and leadership. Upon completion of the two years, you’ll be provided the opportunity to a preferred position, responding to Sanofi’s business needs.

Data and ML Engineer – As a data and ML engineer within the R&D Data Platforms and Products team you’ll have the opportunity to work on projects focused on Data and Cloud Platform Engineering, MLOps, as well as big data, and database management.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Gather and organize large, complex data assets, performing transformations and relevant analysis to meet required business needs using both scripting and GUI based software.

  • Develop and maintain data / ML engineering solutions based on requirements and design specifications using appropriate tools and technologies.

  • Create and test data pipelines / ETL pipelines and optimize performance

  • Create design and development documentation based on standards for knowledge transfer, training, and maintenance.

  • Ensure the quality and proper management of data assets across the data lifecycle.

  • Create data models and optimize queries performance, leveraging existing or create new “standard data pipelines” within Sanofi to bring value through business use cases.

  • Work with business and products teams to understand requirements, and translate them into technical needs.

  • Develop automated tests for CI/CD pipelines.

  • Work with cutting edge tech stack on a cloud first environment, working with both proprietary and open-source technologies.

  • Design AI/ML apps and implement automated model and pipeline monitoring, adaption and validation working closely with data scientists and other engineers.
     

About You

**Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship** 


Basic Qualifications:  

  • Currently pursuing a bachelors or master's degree in computer science, engineering or another relevant quantitative field at an accredited college or university with the expectation that you will complete your current degree by the Spring of 2027   

  • Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship/co-op with Sanofi 

  • Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship

  • Must have permanent US work authorization 

  • Experience with data structures, algorithms, computational methods and cloud computing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work across the full stack and move fluidly between programming languages and data platform / MLOps technologies (e.g.: Python, Spark, R, Github, MLFlow, Airflow, Snowflake, AWS).

  • Demonstrated leadership potential (e.g. through Student Organizations, previous jobs, etc.).

  • Passion for life sciences and global healthcare.
