About the Team:The Data Science and Analytics team at PointClickCare is dedicated to supporting the Senior Care teams. As a Center of Excellence (CoE), we offer advanced expertise in data investigation, model development, and research methods to tackle complex organizational challenges. Our consultative shared services assist teams in building and integrating custom datasets, and tailoring insights and analytics across various departments, systems, and data sources.
About the Role:Reporting to the Manager, Data Science, the Associate Data Scientist will be responsible for understanding, interpreting, manipulating, grouping and correlating our data with the goal of turning our vast amounts of clinical and customer data into meaningful insights for PointClickCare internally and for existing and new customer bases externally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gathering, examining and analyzing large sets of data
- Developing a full understanding of our customers' challenges and need for data, in addition to our own internal needs
- Translating business needs into data models and predictive analytics
- Developing predictive analytics and visualization tools to continually deliver new insights and analytics products to our customers
- Making recommendations in defining our technical approach and participating in the implementation of a full business analytics platform
Your Key Strengths:
- Master’s Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Data Science and 1-3 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1-3 years of experience in the evaluation of data/data sets work products involving data analysis and research
- Basic analytical, data mining, data modeling and data management skills, and ability to utilize data to drive strategic business directions through forecasting, descriptive statistics, statistical inference, and multivariate modeling techniques
- Practical ability to visualize data, communicate effectively about data, and utilizes data effectively
- Good knowledge of SQL and programming experience in Python
- Strong problem solving and logical skills
- Ability to think creatively and to work well both as part of a team and as an individual contributor
Bonus Skills:
- Proficient with a range of business intelligence and analysis tools such as Power BI preferred
- Flexibility to go to the Toronto Office occasionally
