What You Will Do:

  • Provide analytics, data science, and business intelligence support to Department of State clients.

  • Focus on client services, while also supporting business development, internal firm initiatives, and ongoing professional development in data science and analytics.

  • Identify and address client needs, build client relationships, and drive initiatives forward.

  • Focus on a single priority project or juggle concurrent projects.

  • Operate as an independent contributor or collaborate on small teams.

  • Write technical documentation as needed.

  • Manage development sprints, ensuring timely completion of tasks involving webpage front-end coding.

  • Query data from databases using SQL.

  • Wrangle data and develop models using Python to deliver data-driven insights.

  • Develop front-end solutions using Microsoft's Power Apps and Power Automate

  • Translate customer needs into technical requirements and present results to non-technical audiences.

  • Manage stakeholders.

  • Present products and findings to clients and answer questions about methods and results.

  • Support business development including RFP, RFQ, and RFI responses and white papers.

  • Continue to develop professionally and expand skills related to data science, analytics, and consulting.


What You Will Need:

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED Secret Federal or DoD security clearance.

  • Bachelors in a quantitative, analytical, or computational discipline.

  • One (1) or more years of data analytics or web development experience.

  • Proficiency developing websites using Streamlit, Dash, d3.js, or JavaScript.

  • Experience in front-end development using PowerApps.

  • Experience querying data using SQL.

  • Experience wrangling data and developing machine learning models using Python.

  • Ability to operate successfully on hybrid, or on-site projects in the DC metro area.


What Would Be Nice To Have:

  • M.S. or M.A. in a quantitative, analytical, or computational discipline.

  • Ability to learn new technical skills.

  • Ability to operate independently or collaboratively in small teams.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to understand client mission, business processes, and data nuances and design solutions accordingly.

  • THREE (3) years of data analytics experience.

  • Experience developing Natural Language Processing models.

  • Experience utilizing Large Language Models.

  • Experience developing data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau.

  • Experience developing websites using HTML.

  • Proficiency in Excel.

  • Experience with Congressional reporting.

  • Knowledge of and experience supporting Department of State.
