We're looking for an energetic VP, AI Governance to play a critical role in designing, implementing and maintaining a governing structure for leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in a responsible manner that aligns with Dow Jones and News Corp's values. You will oversee a multidisciplinary AI Steering Committee representing stakeholders from multiple departments and for developing training programs to educate staff on best practices in AI and AI policies. You will report to the EVP, Data & AI.

You Will:

  • Build and deliver customized AI training sessions and workshops to a broad audience to promote AI concepts, standards, and best practices;
  • Collaborate across all Dow Jones and News Corp to collect and share AI policies and best practices;
  • Facilitate AI Steering Committee meetings at all levels of stakeholder involvement;
  • Keep abreast of emerging regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance and address potential gaps in collaboration with Legal and Privacy;.
  • In collaboration with News Corp, identify potential risks and values of new AI solutions and presenting findings to AI stakeholders;
  • Develop and sharing expertise on leading AI solutions; working with Sales and Product teams to help understand and evaluate client requirements and possible solutions
  • Ensure AI standards are implemented and reflected through solution procurement, design, development, implementation, and monitoring practices;
  • Manage a small team of data analysts and operations managers to deliver on the company's and department's goals and objectives
  • Conduct PoCs with new promising AI technologies to help drive automation and efficiency in the organization.

You Are:

  • An excellent communicator – As a senior leader, you must be able to clearly communicate the business benefits of highly complex ideas and technical concepts to Executive Leadership and Senior business stakeholders with the ability to connect AI initiatives to the organization's overall strategies and business goals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • A collaborative relationship builder - As a Senior member of the Data & AI Leadership team, you will establish strong working relationships with Executives and Leaders across all Dow Jones business units and corporate functions to drive alignment and support for Dow Jones wide strategic AI Programs and initiatives. In addition you will proactively identify opportunities to connect and bring stakeholder teams together across the organization to collaborate on AI policies and solutions to advance shared business goals and objectives.

Here are some things that we would prefer to see, though none is independently a requirement:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information technology, Data Science, Business Management.
  • At least 10 years' experience in data/AI related fields with Customer consulting in a management position. Experience directly building and managing high performing teams.
  • Experience in building strong working relationships with senior leadership
  • Outstanding leadership abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of the latest data technologies as well as regulations.
  • Demonstrable strategic thinking and analytical and business insight.
