The Data Sciences Manager will provide leadership and support relating to the Quantitative Data Sciences (Data Management) areas of statistics, statistical programming, and clinical data management for ViiV Healthcare (VH) for one or more programs.

This is a remote role but will need to be able to support eastern time zone work hours.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career.  These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Apply expertise relating to Data Management to specific products throughout their VH life cycle.
  • Support Data Management product and project strategy in alignment with VH strategy.
  • Assist the manager implement global strategies, initiatives, processes, and standards to ensure consistent, efficient, and quality processes.
  • Filing and working in TMF systems
  • Manage study timelines across projects.
  • Liaise and maintain working relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Design, develop and apply quality methods and solutions for issue detection, trend analysis, and process performance analysis.
  • Responsible for data quality working in systems, using SAS, reporting findings to various team members.
  • Local lab reconciliation, identifying outliers, issues, missing tests.
  • PK reconciliation, identifying outliers, issues, missing tests.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of data management delivery standards, SOPs, and work instructions, including output QC, validation, and documentation.
  • Lead and deliver data management technical knowledge and expertise to support other ViiV functional team members.
  • Responsible to contribute input into CDISC, SDTM, new variables/new standard form requests.
  • Responsible to review and comment on Clinical Study Protocols, Data Management Plans, study specifications, eCRF, aCRF, data entry guidelines and other CDM related documents.
  • Member of and key contributor to various ViiV Healthcare teams (Medicine Development, Clinical Matrix, Global Collaborative Trials, Data Dissemination, etc.…).  Effective partnership with Medicines Development Leaders, Clinical Investigations Leaders, and others.
  •  Direct collaboration with and oversight of 3rd parties in fulfillment of responsibilities supporting VH programs, including capacity management and trouble-shooting problems related to project delivery.
  • Provides Data Management training and education to various areas of the company.
  • Consults with Programming and Statistics colleagues regarding deliverables relating to programming and statistics activities, including but not limited to: database set up, data standards (CDISC), analysis database conversions (e.g., SDTM), data repository, and data re-use.
  • Global (indirect) leadership and oversight of third-party suppliers of project level data management resource (e.g. GSK) to ViiV Healthcare. 
  • Responsible for manual review of datasets at times of deliverables for ViiV Healthcare.

  • Bachelor Degree in Science.with 7+ years of Data Management experience for drug development.
  • 5 plus years of leadership experience in a matrix environment, including influence and negotiation with the business
  • Experience leading Data Management aspects from study design to final analysis and dissemination
  • Direct experience in developing and delivering presentations

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Nursing degree
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including relationship building and maintenance

The annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $145,350 to $196,650 taking into account a number of factors including work location within the US market, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role. Available benefits include health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), retirement benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
