Department Overview

The Information Security and Privacy Governance Department belongs to the Technology Division, a group-wide common technical service department within the Rakuten Group.

This department is responsible for formulating regulations related to information security, privacy, data, and IT governance within the Rakuten Group, as well as supporting corporate functions and business departments, monitoring, and employee education.

Additionally, this department is also responsible for the ISPD Operations Section department and cross-department programs, collaborating with AI-related departments within the Rakuten Group to promote AI governance group-wide.

Why We Hire

The AI Governance Manager is responsible for developing and implementing procedures to ensure responsible and ethical development, use, and provision of AI in collaboration with relevant departments. This includes developing and implementing AI governance frameworks, policies, and monitoring procedures. Strong communication skills are required because the AI governance framework also involves consolidating existing internal regulations and governance schemes for AI governance purposes. The position is also responsible for recruiting resources to expand the AI Governance Group.

Position Details

- Development and implementation of AI governance frameworks, policies, and monitoring procedures as internal regulations

- Research and implementation of regulations and ethical guidelines related to AI by the Japanese government and other countries in collaboration with relevant departments

- Conducting risk assessments of potential ethical, legal, and social impacts of AI initiatives and providing guidance

- Monitoring and evaluating compliance with governance frameworks and ethical standards

- Providing training and support to internal teams on best practices and standards for AI governance.

- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and changes in regulations related to AI governance and sharing information with the internal community

- Creating reports for Rakuten Group CIO/CTO, CISO, CDO, and management meetings, as required by the Head of the Information Security and Privacy Governance Department

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders

- At least 7 years of experience in information security, internal information system planning or

implementation management, or security, privacy, or data governance

- Experience in team management in the above ii) roles

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience in formulating internal regulations for information security, privacy, and IT governance

- Experience in generating AI, AI-related planning, development, and implementation.

- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) qualification.

- Information Processing Engineer (IPA) qualification.

- Experience and knowledge related to ISMS ISO/IEC 27001 certification activities.

- Experience in building and operating public cloud services
