Lantheus has a thriving business based on cardiovascular and oncology imaging and is now developing radioligands to find, fight, and follow disease in people struggling with cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. With an expanding pipeline that includes 4 late-stage agents and 5 early-stage agents, developing expertise in drug development from preclinical/IND submission to FDA review and approval is critical to the future growth of the company. The VP of Biometrics and Data Sciences will report initially to the CMO (but with an expected consolidation of the division with Clinical Operations at some future point).

Summary of Role:

The Vice President Biometrics will work in a matrix organization on the planning and integration of all Data Management, Biostatistics and Statistical Programming activities, and Data Sciences (including Epidemiology and Real-World Evidence)

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for biometrics and data sciences to support Lantheus' R&D objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define the vision and direction for data-driven decision-making within the organization.

Clinical Trial Support:

  • Oversee the statistical design, monitoring, and analysis of clinical trials across all phases, ensuring regulatory compliance and scientific integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that data science initiatives align with clinical development plans and timelines.

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of biometrics professionals, including biostatisticians, data managers, and data scientists.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that promotes professional development, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Data Governance and Standards:

  • Govern Biometrics/Data Sciences.
  • Provide governance to Asset Teams as needed.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for data management, analysis, and reporting, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Develop and implement statistical methodologies and analytical frameworks tailored to the needs of radiopharmaceutical development.

Collaboration with External Partners:

  • Establish relationships with academic institutions, regulatory agencies, and industry partners to stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in biometrics and data sciences.
  • Participate in the preparation and submission of regulatory filings, providing statistical oversight and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.

Budget Management:

  • Manage and oversee the budget for the Biometrics and Data Sciences department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and resource allocation.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Present data findings and assay results to executive leadership, governing boards, and other key stakeholders.
  • Prepare and communicate comprehensive reports and presentations to summarize findings and implications for clinical and regulatory strategies.

Qualifications:

  • PhD. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field is preferred; Master's degree with extensive experience may also be considered.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in biometrics or data sciences.
  • Proven track record of successful development and management of statistical methodologies for clinical trials, particularly in radiopharmaceuticals or related areas.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical programming languages (SAS, R, Python) and expertise in clinical data management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex statistical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Other Requirements:

  • Overnight travel based on business need.
  • This position is site-based and requires a presence on-site of 3 days per week in Bedford, MA when not traveling.
