As a part of the AI Analytics team, this role leverages Nasdaq Verafin’s vast quantity of data to innovate solutions to key business problems. In this role, you will use your technical ability to solve non-routine analysis problems, generating insights to support business goals and product development.
You will identify opportunities for improvement and demonstrate the effectiveness of solutions through a data-driven, scientific approach. The results of your work will help Nasdaq Verafin detect and prevent financial fraud and money laundering, helping accomplish the company’s purpose: to fight crime!
Role Responsibilities
Analyze real and experimental data to derive quantitative insights
Contribute to data science initiatives through the identification of problems, design of solutions, and development of prototypes used to validate outcomes
Devise solutions for a variety of non-routine analysis problems
Work with talented, knowledge-driven individuals and share your ideas across the team
Assist with data-driven decisions based on project outcomes
Willingness to ask for help, learn from, and mentor others
Essential Skills and Qualifications
A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or another quantitative discipline
2+ years experience
Proficient with SQL, Java, Python, and major Python data science libraries
Experience with Simulation techniques or generation of synthetic data
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to an audience of varying technical backgrounds; able to create meaningful data visualizations
Comprehensive understanding of statistical and mathematical techniques used in data science
Strong analytical skills and creativity to solve complex problems
Experience in any of the following areas would be considered an asset:
Experience in the banking or financial domain
Supervised and unsupervised machine learning
Optimization and evolutionary algorithms
Numerical analysis and convergence testing
Research experience demonstrated through a record of publishing papers in academic journals or conferences

Producing consistent and understandable analyses usable by other teams
Iterating on best practices and repeatable methodologies
Providing expert guidance to product teams on data science related topics

Develop along the technical leadership path including Specialist and Lead Data Scientist
