Team Overview: The Orchestration & Analytics team is a crucial team for marketing. We are responsible for sending out all marketing and non-marketing communications to our members as well as reporting on how it performed. We are looking for someone to join us for the summer to help with organizing and analyzing data from multiple sources to help drive change on how we target our members.

Potential Project:

This role will be a member of the Digital Notifications Services and Orchestration Analytics team, the non-marketing, and the marketing communications teams. Both teams possess a wide range of expertise ranging from process management, project management, data & analytics, systems analytics, and business intelligence to data science. The role will have the flexibility to work across the various roles on the team as well as with other teams at Navy Federal. It will be essential for the Summer Associate to be curious, a problem solver, and a quick learner to identify opportunities to support data organization and centralization of notifications. 

The Summer Associate will be responsible for automating, gathering, standardizing, and labelling notification data from various sources. The Summer Associate will perform qualitative and quantitative analysis the notifications to identify gaps and opportunities to improve data quality. Based on the data discovery, the Summer Associate would be responsible for assistance with the creation of automated process to organize and visualize notification data.

  • Assess notifications within Mission Data’s Data Lake (and various other sources) to identify gaps and opportunities to improve notification identification. 
  • Automate notification collection into a centralized location
  • Analyze notifications for patterns that could aid/assist models that the team uses
  • Develop suggestions and recommendations for strategic initiatives based on findings, and data research, and develop a roadmap or actionable plan as applicable
  • Develop and present proposal on findings from analysis and research to Upper Management and Senior Executives

  • Experience that demonstrates the ability to research, compile, and document data, business processes, and workflows
  • Advanced skill in maintaining accuracy with high attention to detail
  • Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced presentation, verbal, and written communication skills advanced skill in identifying and analyzing business requirements and recommending solutions
  • Significant experience in managing cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects of the highest complexity with high business risk and impact
  • Advanced skill in analyzing statistics and reports to determine business performance, trends, and reporting
  • Advanced skill in data mapping and building requirements

Technical skills:

  • Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Data Science, Data & Analytics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other related degree
  • Advanced skill in interpreting, extrapolating, and interpolating data for statistical research and modeling
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Natural Language Processing
  • Advanced skill in data mining, data wrangling, and data transformation with both structured and unstructured data; deep understanding of data models
  • Advanced skill interpreting and synthesizing large amounts of information
  • Advanced skill in Data Interpretation, Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis
  • Advanced skill in SQL, and Data Querying (able to pull/transform data)
  • Advanced skill in programming languages and databases (Python, R, Java)
  • Familiarity with Data Engineering concepts (ex: ETL tools and techniques)
  • Familiarity with Web Design programming languages (HTML, CSS, Javascript)
