Data generated by electric vehicles is rich and diverse with a lot of potential to design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions to help make safe and sustainable products and services on par with Lucid’s brand. To support our mission, the AI and Machine Learning organization is seeking a Sr. Principal, AI/ML Product Strategy. This hands-on position requires an experienced leader with a track record of successfully defining and deploying data-driven services and products utilizing AI, big data, cloud, and edge computing, at Petabytes scale. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and driving the product vision and strategy, collaborating with cross functional teams to ensure AI/ML solutions align with business objectives, and delivering measurable value through innovation and operational efficiencies.

You Will:

  • Lead the creation and execution of Lucid’s AI/ML product strategy and roadmap to align with company goals, customer demands, and market/business needs. 
  • Engage with Lucid Leadership and key stakeholders to ensure alignment on the AI/ML product strategy and roadmap, including prioritized AI/ML initiatives, the value proposition, timelines, and budget requirements.
  • Engage broadly within the organization to identify and prioritize high-value AI/ML business initiatives.
  • Define KPIs for evaluating the success of AI/ML products based on business impact and feasibility.
  • Build business cases for AI/ML products by calculating potential ROI, cost-benefit analysis, and identifying competitive advantages.
  • Lead and own the product lifecycle from planning and product requirements to execution and continuous support, including monitoring and optimizing AI/ML product performance to maximize ROI.
  • Collaborate with Data Science, Data Engineering, Cloud, Infrastructure and Commercial Teams to translate business needs into technical requirements, align on product positioning, and ensure customer feedback loops.
  • Create prioritized business requirements and decision-making criteria to ensure timely delivery of AI/ML products.
  • Keep effective communication with team members and stakeholders to ensure user and technical issues are promptly prioritized and resolved.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats within the AI/ML and EV landscape.
  • Stay informed on emerging AI technologies, tools, and methodologies to inform product strategies and roadmaps.

You Bring: 

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or related STEM field or bachelor’s degree in computer science with 12+ years of experience
  • Experience in AI/ML product management, strategy, or a similar role leading software/data science teams
  • Proven track record of leading AI/ML projects that have delivered significant business impact and ROI
  • Highly technical with a solid understanding of AI/ML technologies, frameworks, and use cases
  • Deep understanding of software development for machine-learning products
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with demonstrated critical thinking capabilities
  • Technical experience to weigh tradeoffs and to have in depth discussions with scientists and engineers on the nuances of complex AI systems.
  • Experience in an Agile Environment; creating a feature spec, turning it into user stories, setting and tracking KPIs 
  • Experience with a programming language 
  • Experience with AWS cloud environment
  • Experience working with financial metrics including the ability to prioritize initiatives based on business value, complexity, and resource requirements
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex AI/ML concepts to both technical and non-technical Leadership and stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills, capable of influencing and driving cross-functional collaboration between technical teams and non-technical teams  

Nice to Haves:

  • Experience as Product Manager/Owner for AI/ML based SaaS, App design.
  • Relevant experience in EV, Automotive, Transportation, Telematics, or IOT devices 
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.   Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.  (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)Base Pay Range (Annual)$210,800$300,000 USD
