We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and DevSecOps practices. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of complex software solutions, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and efficient.
This is a hybrid role located on our campus in Mountlake Terrace, WA.
What you’ll do:
Design and develop high-quality software solutions that leverage cloud technologies to achieve scalability and efficiency.
Implement and integrate AI and machine learning models to enhance product capabilities.
Collaborate with various departments such as IT, Cybersecurity, Product Development, and Platform to ensure seamless system integration.
Demonstrate proficiency in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and DevOps tools including Azure DevOps, SonarQube, Snyk, JFrog Artifactory, X-ray, and/or others in the same category.
Contribute to the development and enforcement of controls and policies that comply with HITRUST/HIPAA/SOC standards and represent Premera during both internal and external audits.
Apply DevSecOps principles to ensure security is integrated into all stages of the development lifecycle.
Stay current in best practices, technology trends, and the organization’s business while mentoring and sharing knowledge gained with others. Maintain expertise in one or more technical areas. Provide advice and mentoring to other engineers.
What you’ll bring:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
(8) years of software development experience, knowledge of software development lifecycle, and skills to utilize one or more programming languages.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with cloud solutions.
Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Previous experience in an agile environment.
Exposure to API and service-based technologies.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
The salary range for this role is posted below; we generally target up to and around the midpoint of the range.
National Plus Salary Range:
$131,900.00 - $224,200.00*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
