A bit about the role:

As a Senior Web Frontend Engineer at Cantina, you will be partnering with Product Managers, Designers, and Sean Parker to redefine the boundaries of social interaction through innovative web development. Your primary focus will be to design and implement cutting-edge features that enhance the performance, quality, and creativity of our flagship app catering to both human users and AI-powered bots.

A bit about the work:

  • Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications using modern technologies like React, Vue.js, TypeScript, CSS, and HTML.

  • Lead the development of new features and ensure high-quality standards.

  • Work with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, and QA, to create seamless user experiences.

  • Participate in architecture meetings to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability.

  • Provide feedback and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Ownership—be part of a small team that ships an application to a large user base

A bit about you: 

  • 8+ years of experience developing Web applications, or equivalent education.

  • Ability to write code that is readable, maintainable, documented, and thoroughly tested.

  • Fluency in React, VueJs, Typescript, CSS, HTML.

  • Experience developing integrations with RESTful APIs.

  • Experience in testing and automation.

  • Experience with Git.

  • Basic understanding of Figma, can determine spacing and sizing; ability to export icons and understand variable usage.

  • Ability to effectively translate Product, UX, and UI requirements into code implementation.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to evaluate engineering solutions and trade-offs.

  • Attention to detail, including spacing, animations, and user experience nuances.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

  • Understanding of accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g., WCAG).

Location:

We have offices located in Sunnyvale, CA, San Francisco, CA, and Brooklyn, NY. While we offer fully remote and hybrid employment opportunities, our team strongly desires candidates to be available to work in the Bay Area/Los Angeles  or within the Pacific Time Zone (PST). 

Pay Equity: 

In compliance with Pay Transparency Laws, the base salary range for this role is between $150,000-$200,000. When determining compensation, a number of factors will be considered, including skills, experience, job scope, location, and competitive compensation market data.
