The Impact You’ll Have
As Gretel’s first UX Researcher, you will transform complex data into intuitive, consumable formats for customers while bridging the gap between our applied science and engineering teams and end users. This role involves interviewing customers, creating research reports, delivering wireframes, and building interactive prototypes using our internal design system, with responsibilities extending to user flows within our cloud SaaS product.
The position offers a unique opportunity to work with bleeding-edge technology, establishing new patterns and paradigms in areas that haven't been explored before. You'll be instrumental in seeding a new team within the company while collaborating closely with Product, Engineering and Applied Science teams.
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Applied Science, and Machine Learning teams to translate customer needs into novel design solutions.
Produce wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes for experimental product features
Build interactive mockups using our internal design system for engineering handoff
Convert user feedback and analytics data into actionable insights
Lead research initiatives to identify pain points in the customer journey within our Console product and improve usability.
Design and optimize user flows for our cloud platform.
Contribute to the evolution of our experimental features outside the main product
Establish new UX patterns and paradigms for bleeding-edge technology applications
5+ years of industry experience with user experience design and research
Deep understanding of software development practices with exceptional ability to communicate technical complexities and developer experience nuances to engineers and stakeholders
Advanced knowledge of the product design process with expertise in strategically integrating user research for maximum impact
Proven track record of delivering concise, compelling presentations that influence executive-level decisions and business strategies
Superior aesthetic sensibility across color theory, layout principles, typography, and other visual elements
Coding proficiency in Python and React
Experience delivering production-ready UI design mocks

Compensation
Employee compensation will be determined based on interview performance, level of experience, specialization of skills, and market rate. During the offer discussion, your recruiter will review the finalized base salary, bonus (for applicable roles), benefits and perks (additional information available on our career site), and stock options as they’ll be reflected in the offer letter.
Employees hired in the U.S. and Canada can expect the below information to reflect a reasonable estimate of the salary offered for this role. Salary ranges are updated regularly using premium market data. (Please note: it is unusual for new hires to receive a base salary at the top of the range. Additionally, the value of Gretel.ai’s stock options is not included in the salary bands and may represent a significant portion of your compensation.)
