Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • 8 years of experience in machine learning.
  • Experience in portfolio management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in machine learning platforms and systems.
  • Knowledge of design and deployment of the systems and software stack for Machine Learning (ML) platforms.
  • Excellent program management skills, with the ability to drive and land complex cross-functional programs, particularly in the area of hardware/software efficiencies for the data center.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent investigative, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead large cross-cutting programs within the Machine Learning Efficiency team that deliver towards measurable impact and more efficient use of resources in the Google fleet.
  • Drive improvements with materialization of efficiency savings into measurable value for Google through the development of new mechanisms and policies in partnership with Capital Engineering (CapEng), Engineering, and Finance.  
  • Lead the portfolio review process and ensure alignment with the efficiency roadmaps for the fleet. Work with executive team leads across Machine Learning, Systems, and Cloud AI (MSCA) and the Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), CapEng, and Finance to review and make funding recommendations to deliver towards technical infrastructure efficiency goals. 
  • Define team engagements, processes, and policies that enable the scaling impact of the efficiency savings by enabling the team to maximize the value of the efficiency portfolio.
