Introduction:
Gen AI is a powerful new technology that we believe will transform the way that businesses perform and operate. The same way that early adopters developed a competitive advantage in the 1980s with software and in the early 2000s with the internet, we believe that companies that actively invest in understanding and applying Gen AI to their business will develop a competitive advantage over those that do not. At Glovo we have decided to actively invest in applying Gen AI across our business (vs letting it happen more organically) and are looking to find the leader that will own and drive that adoption.
YOUR MISSION
We are seeking a strategic leader to own the application of Gen AI technology across our organization. This role will focus on applying Gen AI to both internal processes as well as customer facing products and services with the goal of improving productivity and effectiveness.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of our business and its processes, have experience leading and delivering large and complex projects, be technically literate (able to understand/ learn/ identify Gen AI’s capabilities and its applications) and be deeply excited about the technology.
THE JOURNEY
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the adoption and integration of Generative AI technologies across the company.
- Collaborate with leadership to align AI initiatives with organizational goals and priorities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with business and tech to identify opportunities for Gen AI applications
- Foster a culture of innovation by educating teams on Generative AI capabilities and encourage its adoption.
- Project Management:
- Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle for Generative AI initiatives, from ideation and prototype development to implementation and evaluation.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with quality standards.
- Performance Measurement:
- Establish metrics to evaluate the impact of AI applications on operational efficiency and product/ service quality.
- Regularly analyze data and report on performance outcomes to stakeholders, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Research and Development:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging applications, and best practices in Generative AI to inform strategy and innovation.
- Drive R&D efforts to explore new AI capabilities and their potential applications within the company.
- Training and support
- Train different teams across the organization on using different Gen AI tools (both specific and general) and facilitate/ support their adoption
- Team Development:
- Team structure and resources are still to be determined and will be assessed against the strategy that this role will put together.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE RIDE
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, STEM or related field
- 7+ years of experience in strategy consulting, business transformation, or digital innovation roles
- Strong business understanding of Gen AI technologies and their practical applications with deep familiarity of the major Gen AI platforms and tools
- Experience in building and executing strategic roadmaps
- Proven track record of owning the end to end delivery of complex organization wide projects
- Experience working with technical teams and coordinating between business and technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority
- Fluent in English (both written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in product management
- Track record of successful Gen AI implementation within a business
- Understanding of data privacy, security, and ethical considerations in Gen AI deployment
- Experience working with and managing external suppliers of technology, including evaluating, deciding upon, negotiating and closing deals with suppliers
- Experience in training and capability building across organizations
- Experience in a high-growth, technology-driven environment
- Experience working in a multicategory marketplace similar to Glovo
