As a result, it is responsible for the selection, provision, operation and continuing development of IT infrastructure, IT platforms and business applications. In order to provide IT solutions that optimally support the departments’ business processes, Schwarz IT addresses the departments’ requirements in consultations and works with them to develop professional and effective IT solutions. In the area of Artificial Intelligence Pricing, we develop data products for the entire Schwarz Group, Europe's largest retailer (Lidl, Kaufland). We use the latest cloud and AI technologies to develop and operate innovative solutions for a wide range of business areas from production to shop business and logistics. As a Software Engineer, you will work together with Data Scientists and Data Engineers on AI solutions that create real added value in a global company. For example, you will help us to prevent the waste of fresh perishable food through intelligent discounts.

Your tasks

• Develop innovative, analytical data products and architectures to improve our business processes

• Take analytical applications from proof-of-concept to production and ensure their quality and future viability
• Be responsible for the software development process and set new standards for development and deployment
• Use the toolbox of a software engineer to translate the requirements of AI products into productive applications
• Work in interdisciplinary agile teams with data scientists, data engineers, product owners and specialist departments
• Act as a coach and mentor for teammates with a flair for analysing and solving technical problems

Your profile

• Enthusiasm for software development and the creation of varied data products
• Several years of experience in software development, e.g. with Python or Java
• Good knowledge of application architecture and the software development cycle (e.g. CI/CD, DevOps, testing)
• Experience in cloud, containerisation and big data, ideally with MS Azure, Kubernetes and Spark
• Analytical skills, agile mindset, independence and hands-on mentality
• Very good knowledge of English, preferably good knowledge of German
• Completed studies in computer science, a comparable degree programme or talented lateral entrant
