Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Director of Solution Engineering to lead our Data & AI Service Area. In this role, you will drive the growth and development of our Data & AI capabilities by leading your team, refining our offerings, and ensuring our solutions meet client needs. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting strategic sales pursuits, helping to shape technical responses, and engaging with clients to ensure their success. Additionally, you’ll manage key data-related partnerships, leveraging these alliances to drive growth and innovation. As a key member of the Solution Engineering Leadership Team (SELT), you will help guide the overall direction of our engineering efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
*Lead the Data & AI Service Area team, including facilitating weekly meetings, mentoring, and providing career development for Solution Architects and Practice Leads.*Evolve the portfolio of capabilities, solutions, and offerings for the Data & AI service area, ensuring they align with emerging client needs and industry trends.*Partner with Data & AI Practice Lead to refine interview processes for external candidates and improve internal training and development strategies.
Sales and Client Engagement:
*Play a critical role in the sales process by conducting client discovery calls, understanding client needs, and credentializing Gorilla Logic's Data & AI capabilities.*Proactively identify opportunities within existing client portfolios to pursue Data & AI work, collaborating closely with the Sales team to align technical responses with client requirements.*Partner with the Sales organization and the CTO to contribute to technical responses for Data & AI sales pursuits, including architecture recommendations, delivery approaches, and solution templates.*Serve as a key member of Client Service Teams (CST) for strategic accounts, supporting account management, innovation investments, and periodic business reviews. 
Solution Development and Delivery:*Drive content development and enhancement of capabilities, solutions, and offerings across all service areas, ensuring they meet client needs and market demands.*Establish and refine templates and processes for the Solution Engineering organization, including pitch decks, qualifying questions, and technical responses for strategic pursuits.*Collaborate with Marketing and the CTO to continuously update and refine Data & AI content on the website, showcasing Gorilla Logic's expertise and offerings.
Channel Management and Partnerships:*Serve as the Channel Manager for data alliances, including setting strategy, direction, and objectives for partnerships with key players like Databricks, Snowflake, and others.*Act as the senior point of contact for data channel partners, nurturing relationships, addressing partner needs, and collaborating with the Sales team to drive sales through partner channels.
Required Skills and Experience:*12+ years of experience in relevant fields, with a strong background in Data & AI.*Proven track record of leading large-scale, complex projects with high impact, including significant experience in client-facing roles.*Deep expertise in many or most Service Lines within the Data & AI Service Area.*Demonstrated success in sales engineering and business development, including identifying opportunities, contributing to sales strategies, and closing deals in a technical capacity.*Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical solutions and value propositions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.*Proven ability to earn credibility quickly, especially when engaging with C-level executives.*Strong collaboration skills with sales, marketing, and delivery teams to drive business growth.*Advanced coaching and mentoring skills, with experience in leading and developing high-performing technical teams.*Strategic thinking, project management, and risk management skills.*Proven ability to navigate and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.*Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively presenting ideas to English-speaking stakeholders.*Willingness to travel occasionally to client locations in the United States or Gorilla Logic offices in San Jose, Costa Rica or Medellin, Colombia as needed.
