TelevisaUnivision is actively seeking a Specialist, Data Products – Data Instrumentation to join our dynamic team! The Specialist, Data Products – Data Instrumentation will support the implementation and maintenance of data tracking solutions to drive insights into user behaviors on our video streaming platform. This role involves hands-on work with data instrumentation technologies, ensuring robust data analytics capabilities, and collaborating with product, QA, and engineering teams to support business objectives.

YOUR DAY-DAY: (aka Responsibilities)

Technology Implementation and Management:

  • Implement and maintain data tracking solutions across various platforms including Segment, Google Analytics (GA4), and BigQuery.
  • Create and modify GTM and GA360 configurations to support new features.
  • Maintain and update the DataLayer to ensure accurate and comprehensive data collection.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to privacy and data compliance, navigating complexities related to VPPA, COPPA, and targeted advertising consents.

Product Collaboration and Integration:

  • Work directly with Product Managers and Engineers to deliver analytics instrumentation on new products and features across web, iOS/Android apps, and CTV/OTT products.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to prioritize Data Instrumentation tickets during Sprint Planning based on estimated timelines (ETA).
  • Advise product teams on tagging events and defining metadata requirements for new features, ensuring accurate implementation before launch.
  • Assist Product Owners and Analysts in generating reports for new features to assess and understand the achieved KPIs.

Testing and Quality Assurance:

  • Collaborate with QA teams to define test cases, smoke tests, and regression tests, prioritizing bug tickets and validating fixes.
  • Periodically audit the reporting layer for data inconsistencies and anomalies to pinpoint instrumentation issues.

Operational Excellence:

  • Develop and refine instrumentation specifications to ensure high-quality data collection from client applications.
  • Support on troubleshooting and resolution of data issues to maintain data accuracy and functionality.
  • Understand the importance of clean data for driving insights across systems and be accountable for ensuring our instrumentations are consistent, well-defined, and reliable.
  • Develop new business metrics and oversee tagging changes required to support those metrics.
  • Maintain documentation on ongoing Data Instrumentation requirements.

Compliance and Innovation:

  • Stay updated with industry trends to implement innovative solutions that enhance our data tracking capabilities.

YOU HAVE: (Qualifications, Required Skills & Experience)

  • Proficiency in communicating in both English and Spanish.
  • Background in digital media and/or digital marketing preferred.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technical skills with hands-on experience in Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics (GA4), Segment, and BigQuery.
  • Experience with Looker or similar tools such as Tableau is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar position preferred.
