Job Description:
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist with a solid foundation in probability, statistics, and machine learning algorithms to join our team. The primary focus of this role is the development and improvement of predictive models within the supply chain domain. The role involves conducting independent research, prototyping, and enhancing existing models while building and refining machine learning pipelines. Additionally, strong software engineering skills are required, as the role includes building and maintaining microservices that are an integral part of the data pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
Model Development and Improvement: Enhance existing predictive models and develop new, complex ML pipelines to solve supply chain problems, with a focus on regression models.
Innovation: Conduct independent research to bring new ideas and approaches, rapidly prototyping and testing new methodologies.
Technical Proficiency: Apply your strong skills in Python, scikit-learn, PySpark, and SQL to prepare and transform data for model training. Familiarity with Dataiku is a plus.
Code Quality: Write flexible, modular code with well-structured abstractions, ensuring maintainability and scalability.
Production Deployment: Deploy solutions to production using CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes, ensuring robust and scalable deployment processes.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with product teams, effectively communicating to ensure that solutions are aligned with project goals and have a clear impact on the organization.

Educational Background: MSc degree or higher in Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Python, with experience using scientific programming libraries and following programming best practices.
Proficiency in SQL with hands-on experience in relational databases.
Experience with distributed computing systems, particularly Apache Spark, as well as asynchronous computing.
Track record of building and deploying machine learning models to production environments.
Expertise in writing modular, well-structured code with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and code abstractions.
Experience with Git, Linux, and Docker.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity Kubernetes for managing containerized applications.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Impact-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering value to the business.
