Financial Crime Intelligence, Investigations & Analytics (FCIIA), situated within Group Financial Crime Prevention, provides specialist capabilities to support enterprise-wide Complex Investigations, Proactive Strategic Intelligence and Financial Crime Monitoring capabilities. FCIIA also provides subject matter expertise to support analytics initiative to drive great efficiency and effectiveness across traditional financial crime monitoring and detection capabilities.

About this opportunity

This is a role within the data science unit of FCIIA with responsibility of aiding cross jurisdictional special investigations and coordinating both operational and strategic intelligence through development of advanced analytics products leveraging machine learning and GenAI.

What you will be doing

  • Turn innovative ideas into reusable data science solutions
  • Proactively contributing to the build of next generation financial crime solutions including articulating how analytical solutions and data transformations can be integrated into these
  • Utilise statistical methods, machine learning and LLMs to enhance threat detection and detect suspicious behaviour
  • Work with the full model development lifecycle, from data analysis and rule-based prototyping to increasingly mature machine learning product development 
  • A curious mind, not afraid of suggesting data driven solutions that will increase the bank’s effectiveness and efficiency
  • Take ownership in documenting the models and support the model governance and validation
  • Stay up-to-date on AI, analytics, and financial crime knowledge and share insights with the team

The role is based in Helsinki or Stockholm. You will join a team that is built on hybrid skill-sets and has a dynamic work environment.

Who you are

We believe that you're an energetic individual who enjoys bringing ideas, exploring their potential, and presenting the results. You're passionate about going beyond compliance to fight financial crime, and you're eager to build machine learning models that can identify complex and suspicious transactional behaviours, ensuring both the bank and society's safety.

Your experience and background:

  • Experience and proven track record in solving business problems with data science, machine learning and AI solutions 
  • Experience in machine learning, data analytics or GenAI
  • Have a Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science or related field
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Ability to communicate clearly on complex topics
  • Enjoy collaboration with team members and stakeholders
  • Fluency in English
  • Experience working in financial crime prevention within the financial services industry is a nice to have
