As a Data Scientist in our Product team you will be responsible for the successful delivery of implementation of our data management solutions of our wider Risk management (Prophet) ecosystem with emphasis on Climate Risk. We are looking for a Data Scientist to analyze large amounts of raw information to find patterns. We will rely on you to build data products to extract valuable business insights. In this role, you should be highly analytical with a knack for analysis, math, and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data. We also want to see a passion for machine-learning.

You will initially focus on customizing and deploying our data management software and implementing data solutions and reporting for our clients. In this capacity, qualified candidates maintain a deep, intimate knowledge of the product and deliver consultancy, solutions, and support to our clients.

About the team:

Prophet is a leading risk management platform used by the financial services industry around the world to model companies’ financial business. Our team is developing SaaS Risk management platform. It will be the system with single web interface and microservices run in docker containers on AWS Cloud. It’ll enable the execution of processes that perform in depth calculations based upon the actuarial models. Latest addition to platform is Climate Risk application enabling Snowflake and AWS QuickSite reporting capabilities to our solution.

What you will be doing:

  • Identify relevant data sources and sets to mine for client business needs, and collect large, structured datasets and variables

  • Analyze data for trends and patterns, and Interpret data with a clear objective in mind

  • Implement analytical models into production by collaborating with data team.

  • Communicate analytic solutions to stakeholders and implement improvements as needed to operational systems

  • Devise and utilize algorithms and models to mine big data stores, perform data and error analysis to improve models, and clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy

  • Deliver against your own and the overall team and division revenue and utilization (client billed hours) targets.

  • Capitalize on that engagement, your expertise and our offerings to generate new revenue opportunities, liaising with our presales and sales team to help fully qualify them.

  • Face new challenges and situations, provide concrete illustrations of your engagement and ability to anticipate, be proactive, take initiative, qualify a problem or challenge and come with (creative) solutions.

  • Be active with the development and growth of our products, professional service Catalog (building new services, improving existing ones) and toolkits.

  • The ability to present to and train key resources of a client.

  • The ability to work independently.  We are one team striving to achieve results together, each member of the team needs to be able to work on their own. This means moving topics forward to the best of your ability without constant supervision, identifying and communicating when you need support or help, and adequately engaging colleagues and managers as required.

What you bring:

  • Minimum of three years of experience as a Data Scientist

  • Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis

  • Advanced pattern recognition and predictive modeling experience

  • Advanced experience with:

    • Python (including libraries like: Pandas, Matplotlib, NumPy, SciKit etc.)

    • SQL and data modelling

    • PowerShell

  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or PowerBI etc.

  • Data-oriented and problem-solving personality

  • Comfort working in a dynamic, goal-oriented group with several ongoing concurrent projects and working from home

  • Ability to engage various internal or external stakeholders at various hierarchical level.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of written and verbal formats.
