This role can be performed remotely anywhere within the United States.

Fullstory’s mission is to help teams create amazing online experiences for their customers. We do this by applying deep expertise in distributed systems and computer science to build an ambitiously high-scale, high-value platform, presented in an intuitive manner that customers love.

As a Senior Data Science Software Engineer on the Behavioral Intelligence team, reporting to one of our founding members, you will be a hybrid of a Data Scientist and a Software Engineer. As a Data Scientist, you will perform research and development of algorithms, models and novel machine learning and AI systems. As a Software Engineer, you will work with engineers, designers, and product managers to bring these systems to life from idea, to prototype to production. Working with platform engineers to continue improving the infrastructure to support data science.

We are a product-centric team and work in a tight feedback loop with our customers. You will play a key role in bridging the gap between exploratory data science and scalable, production-ready systems that solve high value problems for some of the world’s leading brands and companies. We are looking for someone with a curious, builder and tinkerer mindset that is eager to make a big impact on important new lines of business for Fullstory through a deep collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, data scientists, and product managers.

In a typical day, you might:

  • Design and execute experiments that develop algorithms and models that are actionable and create meaningful business value.

  • Develop machine learning systems that model, classify and predict behavior.

  • Write production-quality code and help design the systems that will incorporate your algorithms and models into product features and services.

  • Set up instrumentation and analyses that continuously monitor those product features for quality assurance and customer success.

  • Work with engineers to architect new data science product infrastructure.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Have worked in a product-centric engineering role before, or aspire to, and have experience delivering data-driven features end-to-end from experimentation to production.

  • Have experience in statistics, data analytics (SQL and Python), and machine learning.

  • Have experience building classification or anomaly detection systems (sentiment analysis or fraud detection a plus).

  • Have experience with personalization and recommendation systems (conversion rate optimization [CRO] experience a plus).

  • Are strongly self-motivated, excited to work collaboratively, and comfortable with practices like code reviews, design reviews, and pairing.

  • Have experience partnering with engineers to architect production-ready solutions.

You’ll be joining a very tight knit team filled with passionate, collaborative people, all of whom are excited to meet you!
