The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR Research Center, is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Researcher to lead impactful research and contribute to global water security from our office in Nairobi, Kenya as a Researcher – AI for Agricultural Water Management.

The Researcher – AI for Agricultural Water Management will lead the design, development, and deployment of AI models for water management applications while ensuring scalability. The incumbent will collaborate with stakeholders and interdisciplinary teams to translate research into practical solutions and contribute to the advancement of data-driven decision-making tools for sustainable water resources.
This role is ideal for a technically skilled AI professional with expertise in machine learning, cloud computing, MLOps, and AI deployment within the field of hydrology and/or agricultural water management.

This is an internationally recruited position with a competitive salary, an attractive retirement plan, comprehensive international health insurance, life insurance accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, and long-term disability coverage. Internationally recruited staff who are employed at a duty station outside of their home base/country of nationality will also receive relocation assistance and housing allowance. The duration of the contract will initially be for a period of two (02) years.
