We seek a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher with expertise in detecting disease using gait/motion analysis, balance, and eye tracking data using machine learning to join the Neurology Artificial Intelligence Program (NAIP). The primary focus of this position will be diagnosing neurological disease through our growing database of patient-generated data, specifically quantitative gait and balance measures. This includes working on aspects such as preprocessing data, training machine learning models, clinical validation studies, and scientific dissemination via publication and code sharing. Prior experience in gait and motion analysis, and/or time series analyses is preferred.
NAIP is a growing group of clinician-investigators, data scientists, and software engineers building AI tools to be used in clinical care and patient centered research. We are embedded within the clinical practice at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and well connected to ongoing research programs within neurology. This role presents an exciting opportunity to apply leading expertise in gait/motion analysis and eye tracking towards developing impactful digital tools for clinical use. It is ideal for someone who is passionate about advancing healthcare through technology, including machine learning. Individuals with experience in gait and motion analysis, machine learning or signal processing are strongly encouraged to apply.
